Richard Steighner
Creator, Rickety Richie
Richard is a musician who has travelled to over 75 countries as a beatboxer, producer, and tour manager. But his journey started in a very different direction. Richard received degrees in both Psychology and Design from University of Colorado. He designed everything from restaurants to apps to furniture before music became his life.
His career in a cappella evolved from college to touring the world, learning new ways to make noise!
The travel inspired a passion for teaching music and beatboxing as he became a cultural ambassador, eventually forming his own non-profit to create music programs.
In 2019 Richard began making Rhythm Barnyard after a conversation with his sister, Megan. The first episode was filmed in a spare bedroom on an iphone 6, and they’ve been growing since.
